Experience

  • Shamoon has more than 20 years of progressive and varied experience in the financial sector.
 He has been in the region for nine years, previously working primarily in investmentsand asset management with Boubyan Bank, Bahrain Islamic Bank and KFH Real Estate. Shamoon has extensive experience in managing private equity and real estate investments and notable expertise in structuring and developing investment products and asset management.
  • He started his career in investment banking within Corporate Finance/Advisory in Pakistan. He then moved to New York with ABN-Amro selling listed equities to funds investing in emerging markets. Subsequently he shifted to development finance helping Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). During this period he worked at government/policy level; industrial/ sector level and with individual enterprises. He also has extensive experience in financial control and governance.

Experience

  • 15 years in the financial industry with extensive exposure in Insurance, Investment, Oil & Gas and Hospitality sectors.
  • His recent experience as a senior financial analyst for about 2 years at Gulf Insurance Group, enabled him to be responsible for analyzing the performance, preparing financial forecasts, and strategic budgets for the group and its subsidiaries, as well as conducting financial due diligence procedures, evaluating new business opportunities and monitoring M&A.
  • Prior to that, he was an investment manger in private equity funds at AlMal Investment Company, whereby he gained vast experience involving focus on increasing the returns to stakeholders, translate strategic private equity investment vision into operating results for the company, conduct pre- investment study, analysis and thorough due diligence, and collaborate with legal professional to structure agreements, understand risks and sort various legal issues with regards to the portfolio.
